Fabric Information
All fabrics used to make your diapers and diapering
accessories are prewashed at least twice in hot water so all shrinkage should
have occured before your product is cut out.
Hemp is washed 3 times.
Microfleece and PUL are NOT prewashed as they generally don't shrink in
hot water, being made of polyester. PUL 100% Polyester knit fabric that has waterproof laminate
applied to the wrong side to make it waterproof. PUL is used for the outside of pocket diapers.
Microfleece/Powerstretch Microfleece is a man made material. It is made from 100% polyester and wicks
moisture away, helping baby's bottom to feel dry. It is used as the inner layer of pocket
diapers, to top soakers and boosters with, and as a lining in Simply Nights
diapers. Pilling of microfleece fabric
after washing is normal. The difference between microfleece and powerstretch is that powerstretch stretches 4 ways, microfleece only stretches 2 ways.
Bamboo Fleece The bamboo fleece in Bumblebuns Diapers is a blend of 70% bamboo/30% organic cotton. Bamboo fleece is a very eco-friendly
fabric that works well in any part of a diaper.
It is very silky and soft, and maintains that silky softness, even if
you dry your diapers on the clothesline.
Bamboo fleece is very trim, yet highly absorbent and is naturally
antimicrobial. Bamboo/Organic Cotton
Velour A blend of 70% bamboo, 28% organic cotton and 2%
spandex, bamboo velour is one of the most lush fabrics ever! It is another very eco-friendly
fiber that is naturally antimicrobial and extremely absorbent. The bamboo/organic cotton velour is very
absorbant and lush feeling, softer and silkier than regular or organic cotton
velour. It is great to line a diaper
with, top soakers, etc. It does not wick
moisture away like microfleece, but it is very absorbent and when it tops a
soaker or lines a diaper, it does absorb the moisture very quickly and help
pull it to the inner layers.
Hemp French Terry Bumblebuns hemp french terry is a blend of 55% hemp and 45% organic
cotton. Hemp is much more absorbent than
cotton and is great for inner layer of diapers, soakers, diaper doublers,
etc. Hemp is naturally antimicrobial,
however, some people do not care for the way it smells when it gets very wet.
Organic Cotton French
Terry A 100% organic cotton fabric that is thick like hemp french
terry and can be used to make a whole diaper.
It is softer than hemp, and many of my customers like it for Simply
Nights diapers because it does not smell strongly when soaked like hemp can.
